Frankie spilled a bowl of ketchup on our tan carpet yesterday, leaving behind an enormous orange stain in the center of the room.
I wish I could go back in time and tell her that, no, she doesn't need any ketchup with her nuggets. Cause this stain doesn't want to budge. If anything, it seems to get *worse* the more I mess with it.
Dang it.
Someone should totally invent clear ketchup.
Ketchup is so yesterday. Kechipotle is where it's at these days. Or Ketchapeno.
ReplyDeletep.s. - clear ketchup sounds disgusting.
ReplyDeleteDid you get the stain out?
ReplyDeleteNope. Can't get it out. Double dang it.
ReplyDeleteIf you can, test hydrogen peroxide on a scrap piece of the same carpet to check if it is colorfast. If so, try it on the ketchup stain and see if it helps lift it out of the fibers.
ReplyDeleteI have seen a device called spotbot. Sold at Target. You put it on the floor with the soap and walk away. The area brushes (for hours if necessary) and cleans every stain I have every seen made, even magic market. Never owned on but thought I'd share. We are extremely happy for you. When is closing? Love you all. Olga
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the suggestions, everyone. I actually ended up trying this spot-removing powder made by "Resolve," and it worked pretty well. It took most of the stain out... If anything, the problem now is that the outside of where the stain was is *cleaner* than the rest of the carpet. Still, I think it's a passable result. Whew!
ReplyDeleteGreat news!! One less thing to worry about.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you from Missouri!
Forgot to mention, I think Carlos is hot.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to have seen everyone in their little love bungalow over Christmas. That was a fun home that you made so dear. I am actually having a hard time letting go. Especially since I have not seen your new home. Hurray, new beginnings and lots of space and quiet.
