Sorry!
I haven't posted in AGES. Am... Feeling... Guilt.
Lots of things have been going on at the Myers/Cole household. We're starting to get past the loss of Roscoe. Everytime I go downstairs, I still think I'm going to see him walking around the corner. When 4pm rolls around I still have a moment of panic, sure that I need to get home to feed him his dinner. But we're coping. We're planning to plant a memorial tree this summer, and I think that will be a nice way to remember him.
The house renovations are at a bit of a standstill. Matt was gone to China for two weeks, and then Frankie & I went to Kentucky for a few days. So, not a ton of progress. Lots of plans, though. My number one goal is to get something rolling with the floors downstairs, and to paint the upstairs and downstairs. Once that's done, the place will feel totally brand spankin' new. I'm looking forward to making the basement feel less....basementy.
Speaking of new things, we're STILL waiting for our new couch to arrive. Macy's called today, and they're not going to deliver it until May 6. That's SEVEN WEEKS since we ordered the dang thing. The whole process is making me feel super frustrated. Come home soon, couch! Miss you!

A Bad Week
In the span of a week, we had to deal with three pretty bad things at the Myers/Cole household:
1) Sweet old Roscoe passed away, leaving the house a very quiet and lonely place.
2) A horrible windstorm blew over the beautiful (and gigantic) willow tree in our backyard. Thankfully it didn't hit the house, but the removal process is going to be labor-intensive (ie: Matt, meet chainsaw), and we're really going to miss that beautiful old tree.
3) Our income tax bill came in, and we owe a mind-boggling 7500 dollars to the US government. That pretty much wipes out our savings, and puts the kibosh on many (probablly most) of the house renovation projects we were planning.
So... I'm pretty glad that week is over, and I'm hoping that we've run through all of our bad juju.
