The hotel room was very nice, and very comfortable. It did, however, have some of the weirdest structural details I've ever seen. The room was on the top floor, in what, once upon a time, would have been considered the attic. The shape of the attic translated oddly into the room itself... It was like there was a giant inverted pyramid in the center of the room, right at head-bonking level. Thus, we christened the room "The Bonkatorium."

Frankie's favorite part of the room were these weird gigantic round pillows that the hotel kept on the floor by the kid's bed. I honestly can't figure out what purpose they were intended to serve--- They were way too big to fit on any of the beds. They made for a great slide, though.

Maybe the pillow was for kids to bounce on when they fell off the bed. I'm sure Frankie loved it.
Now I'm going to think about that pillow all day. Maybe it's purely for kid fun?
Maybe you're right, Dovey. If so, though, I'd be an uncharacteristically whimsical touch for the Radisson.
Jo, I don't think it was to catch falling sleepers. The pillow is much longer than the space that the bed fits in. It would be impossible to wedge it in at the side of the bed.
My only other thought is that it's a safety thing, meant to keep people from walking too close to the edge of the room and therefore preventing head bonkings. That doesn't seem like a great strategy, though... I can't imagine it would actually work.
Dovey, it cracks me up to think of you consumed with thoughts of The Big Pillow. :)
