Major hurdle: Crossed!

Huzzah! I actually figured out how to use the British telephone, explain the location of the house, and have a pizza delivered!! I’m feeling pretty awesome right about now.

Pardon me while I strut…

How did the pizza compare to the US version in price and taste?
Glad you guys are doing well.

Hi Kelly! Give a smooch to that beautiful baby of yours for me. :)

We've had pizza twice since we've been over here. The first time, it was pretty awful. It tasted like a soft piece of flatbread with sweet spaghetti sauce and melted cheese on it. Bleh.

The place that delivered to our house, thankfully, was totally delicious. It was really similar to pizza in the US (crisp crust, garlicy sauce, browned cheese),but the toppings are much weirder. For example, they seem to be big fans of shrimp on pizza.

We got a "Malibu" pizza that was topped with peppers, pepperoni, and onions. Sounds perfectly normal... When it arrrived, though, the peppers were actually a FIREY hot chili pepper. I love spicy foods and thought it was great, but it was so spicy it burned my mouth and lips. It's one of the hottest things I've ever eaten, second only to a habenaro pasta dish that my brother once cooked for me & Matt.

Oh! And it cost 8 pounds, which roughly translates to about $12. It was the size of a US "medium" pizza, so was a little on the expensive side. Not too bad, though, especially when I'm craving a little slice of home.
