Garden Update

As I was bending over to pick up a huge pile of weeds, I saw a few drips of water hit the sidewalk beside me. My first thought was, "Wait... is something leaking?'"

Then I realized, it was me. Sweating.

Looking pretty good so far, though. Not bad for a morning's work.

That is a huge improvement! It looks so much better already. Have you decided on a plan for it yet?

Not really. I'm trying, but I have no ability to envision outdoor spaces. I'm thinking we'll probaby put a brick floor down the center of the space, leaving dirt over about two feet on the house and wall sides. Then, I'll plant some stuff. Flowers? I guess? I'd like to put a glider swing out there on the brick part, and some nice pots filled with plants too. So, that's a good starting place. A fountain, a pond, all those things would be nice. But I really am a low-maintenance gal. I don't think I'd enjoy keeping those water features beautiful.

Water features are a pain, but they look nice. I love the idea of a brick patio with flower pots. You could plant some perennials out there. Hostas? Small shrubs? Holly?

I think a swing and a water feature is a great idea. Take it from someone that knows, DO NOT dig a hole with a fountain!! Lots of work. Buy a fountain already to go. I also agree with K.C., perrenials around the bricks with annuals in the pots for color. Great job you guys!
