English Easter

Our new house provided quite the picturesque backdrop for an Easter celebration. It was a bright and sunny day, and we took advantage of the nice weather with a stroll through the Kirkborough garden. It's such a great backyard, especially since the landlord has (thankfully) hired someone else to do all of the work.

You'll notice Jo in several of the pictures. We actually had our Easter celebration on Friday so that she could be a part of the festivities.

Inside, we had an Easter egg hunt. Frankie kept running around the room, finding chocolate eggs and yelling... "ANOTHER GOODIE!!!"

Frankie was absolutely elated to discover that the Easter bunny had found our house. She was even more impressed when we noticed several of the Easter bunny's friends playing in our garden outside the living room window. (Can you see them in this picture?)

Impossible as it may seem, Frankie actually ate all of the giant chocolate bunny in this picture. That gal is cuckoo for chocolate!

Sadly, though, Frankie didn't find all of the Easer bunny's treats. Grandma Jo actually found a few, too. (After sitting on them and melting the chocolates to her pants. Ha!)

Happy Easter, everyone!

I love that first picture of Frankie in her Easter dress, gazing deep-in-thought at the English countryside. For some reason, it reminds me of that famous Andrew Wyeth painting "Christina's World." (Which I've adored since I was a kid.)
